The Space Shuttle Discovery sits on Launch Pad 39A awaiting its scheduled August 7, 1997, launch for the 11-day STS-85 flight. The crawler-transporter, seen beneath the Shuttle, had earlier slowly moved the Discovery from the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) to the launch complex.
