Payload specialist James A. (Jim) Pawelczyk readies astronaut Dafydd R. (Dave) Williams for a run in the Neurolab off-axis rotator. Williams is a STS-90 mission specialist representing the Canadian Space Agency (CSA). The rotator device was developed by the European Space Agency (ESA) to simulate the vestibular system with both spinning and tilting sensations. Infrared video cameras will capture the eye movements that accompany the spinning. Eye movements will reflect changes in how the vestibular system responds.
