This Electronic Still Camera (ESC) image shows Jay C. Buckey, Jr., payload specialist, subject for autonomic experiments in the Neurolab onboard the Space Shuttle Columbia. James A. Pawelczyk, payload specialist (right arm partially visible on left), and Buckey continue their autonomic neuroplasticity in weightlessness and autonomic neurophysiology in microgravity investigations into how the human nervous system adapts to the weightlessness of space. The pair are taking part in a variety of experiments designed to examine blood pressure regulation in microgravity, and to learn how the cardiovascular system changes during spaceflight.
