Astronaut Dafydd R. (Dave) Williams, a mission specialist representing the Canadian Space Agency (CSA), serves as a test subject for a Neurolab experiment while his body below the torso is positioned in the lower body negative pressure (LBNP) device. Out of frame at left is payload specialist James A. (Jim) Pawelczyk, who is measuring Williams nerve signals traveling from the brain to blood vessels in his lower body.
