SRTM X-SAR imagery around Munich Airport. The buildings appear as white embossed structures; the taxiways and runways as dark lines. The town Freising is located just north of the airport. The image was taken during snow showers and reduced visibility demonstrating the all-weather potential of RADAR. Refer to the ground photo in JSC2000-E-02758, showing DLR buildings taken today, shortly after the Space Shuttle Endeavour and its SRTM payload passed overhead. Note: All X-SAR imagery and related charts and maps are provided by DLR, Germany's national aerospace resource center as well as the national space agency.
