The International Space Station is photographed just after separation from the Space Shuttle Atlantis over Mongolia. Featured in the 70mm frame is the Lake Hovsgol rift valley. A long, straight transform fault zone connects the Hovsgol and Baykal rift valleys. Lake Baykal is 200 kilmeters east of Lake Volsgol.
