USC's Humanoid Robot Head

June 26, 2012
The University of Southern California's learning Humanoid Robot Head was one of over a dozen robots exhibited at the National Science Foundation headquarters as part of the exhibition "Robots: An Exhibition of U.S. Automatons from the Leading Edge of Research" in 2005. The robots were there to highlight U.S.-funded robotics research and the findings of a study--newly released at that time--titled "World Technology Evaluation Center International Study of Robotics." The report culminated a nearly two-year effort that evaluated robotics research and development in the U.S., Japan, Korea and Western Europe. Credit: Zina Deretsky, National Science Foundation
