JSC2004-E-46168 (14 October 2004) --- A SCUBA-equipped diver works with an underwater version of a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) near the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Aquarius Underwater Laboratory, located off the coast of Key Largo, Florida, for the NASA Extreme Environment Mission Operations (NEEMO-7) project. This particular ROV can be “flown” around underwater on a 300-foot tether from a boat. It can take video of what it’s seeing, and even has a manipulator on the front.
