Discovery NASM Turnover

Space shuttle Discovery, now retired after 39 flights into space over 27 years, is now enshrined in the National Air and Space Museum's Stephen F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, Va., adjacent to Dulles International Airport. Discovery was ferried from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida to Dulles, with a two-circuit flyover of metropolitan Washington, D.C. included, on April 17, 2012 and formally transferred to the museum during ceremonies on April 19.
