NGC 5962

This image of the spiral galaxy NGC 5962 was taken during June 7th 2003 as part of the GALEX nearby galaxy survey. This galaxy is located 90 Million light years away from the Earth. This picture is a combination of GALEX images taken with the FUV (colored blue) and NUV detectors (colored red).
The red stars in this image are foreground stars in our own Milky Way galaxy.
