Galactic Plane Scan strategy

Illustration of the Galactic Plane Scan strategy. Once per 12 days Integral performs scans in a saw-tooth pattern along the Galactic Plane. The saw tooth patterns of two consecutives scans are shifted by 27.5 degree. The inset in the top middle illustrates the size of the fully coded field of views for the four Integral instruments.
