IBEX Hi Sensor

January 9, 2013
This photo shows the IBEX Hi sensor in the clean room. IBEX–Hi can measure particles with 0.3–6 keV of energy and is situated at the bottom of the hexagon spacecraft. IBEX has two sensors one on each side; IBEX Hi and IBEX Lo. Each time an energetic neutral atom comes in to one of the sensors, it is recorded and at the end of six months of that data it will give scientists a picture of the entire 360 degrees longitude celestial sphere.
