Snow Trail Across North Central United States

A broad swath of snow lies across the central United States in this true-color Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) image from January 14, 2003. The trail leads from Manitoba, Canada, at far upper left into North Dakota and South Dakota, eastward into Minnesota (top) and Iowa (bottom), farther east into Wisconsin (top) and Illinois (bottom), and down into Indiana at bottom right.
