Transmission electron microscope image of a thin section cut from Coleus Blumei shoot apex specimen. Image shows formation of cell plate, during cell division. A layer of vesicles, formed in the midplane between the the two sets of daughter chromosomes, is called the cell plate. In this image, the cell plate has almost traversed the entire cytoplasm and reached the cell wall.
