1Plasmadermata
March 20, 2013
Transmission electron microscope image of a thin section of Coleus Blumei shoot apex. Image shows longitudinal and cross sections of plasmadermata. Plasmadermata are channels(or canals) that provide cytoplasmic continuity with adjacent cells. The plasmadermata center is occupied by a desmotubule, which is continuous with the endoplasmic reticulum. The plasmadermata is part of the transport system between cells.
