Transmission electron microscope image of a thin section of Coleus Blumei shoot apex. Image shows cross sections of plasmadermata. The plasmadermata appear as narrow canals lined by plasma membrane and traversed by a tubule of endoplasmic reticulum called a desmotubule. The plasmadermata is part of the transport system between cells.
