Range Fire in New Mexico

In eastern New Mexico, a range fire broke out on November 30, 2005. According to a news report, the fire broke out on a military bombing range, rapidly scorching more than 25,000 acres. The small farming town of Floyd, New Mexico, located about 40 kilometers (25 miles) southwest of Clovis, had to be evacuated while authorities brought the blaze under control.
