(9 March 2012) --- NASA astronaut Don Pettit, Expedition 30 flight engineer, works with the Structure and Liftoff In Combustion Experiment (SLICE) at the Microgravity Sciences Glovebox (MSG) in the Destiny laboratory of the International Space Station. Pettit conducted three sets of flame tests, followed by a fan calibration. This test will lead to increased efficiency and reduced pollutant emission for practical combustion devices.
