This wide-swath radar image is centered over the cities of Wuchang, Hankou, and Hanyang. These cities were combined into one administrative unit, and given the abbreviated name Wuhan. Hankou, the commercial center and largest of the three, occupies the northwest quadrant, lying west of the Yangzi and north of the Han Jiang rivers. Hanyang, a manufacturing and residential section, lies west of the Yangzi and south of the Han Jiang. Wuchang, the administrative and educational center, is situated on the eastern bank of the Yangzi. A visible landmark in Wuhan is the Yangzi River Bridge that connects Hanyang and Wuchang.
