This wide-swath radar image is centered over the archipelago of Tierra del Fuego that lies at the southernmost tip of South America and is shared by Chile and Argentina.

It consists of a large main island, called Tierra del Fuego, along with many smaller islands. The eastern part of the main island is a continuation of the Patagonian plateau and belongs to Argentina, forming the federal district of Tierra del Fuego. The most southern point of the archipelago belongs to Chile and forms Cape Horn.
