Strike Vote on Buses
July 14, 2007
BUS drivers are to vote on strike action over plans to bring in agency workers during the summer.
The Transport and General Workers Union’s 400 members at First Aberdeen voted unanimously for a ballot.
They are angry the agency workers would get higher wages and say some permanent staff are willing to do overtime to provide cover.
Tommy Campbell, of the TGWU, said many drivers were “incensed”. Talks are planned for Monday.
