BA is on a Flight Path to Its First Dividend in Six Years
BRITISH Airways is moving close to paying its first annual dividend in six years, chairman Martin Broughton indicated at todays annual meeting. He said the airline is approaching the 10% operating margin it has set as a target before dividends will be paid. I know from the cards and emails returned with your voting forms that this is the number one issue on your minds, he told investors. BA last paid a dividend in 2001 before the 9/ 11 terrorist attacks. Meanwhile, the company is to appoint an emissions Tsar in a bid to fight back in the public relations war over aviation pollution. Environmental issues were a major point of discussion at the annual meeting.
