Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corporation Increases Quarterly Dividend By 28 Percent

Directors of Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corporation (NYSE: BNI) voted today, July 19, 2007, to increase BNSF's next quarterly dividend by 28 percent, or 7 cents per share, to 32 cents per share on outstanding common stock. This represents an annualized $1.28 per share dividend.
The dividend of 32 cents per share on common stock will be paid October 1, 2007, to shareholders of record September 10, 2007. Common shares outstanding on June 30, 2007, totaled approximately 353 million. Since mid-2003, BNSF's quarterly dividend has increased by 167 percent.
