Jul. 17–SUN BANCORP’S EARNINGS UP 30 PERCENT: Sun Bancorp Inc. said Monday that income for the second quarter rose almost 30 percent from the same quarter a year ago in part because of growth in non-interest income such as service charges.

The Vineland-based parent company of Sun National Bank said its net income was $4.9 million, or 22 cents a share, for the quarter, compared with net income of $3.8 million, or 17 cents a share, for the same quarter a year ago.

The company reported assets of $3.3 billion, compared with assets of $3.2 billion for the same time a year ago. Sun Bancorp has 16 branches in Monmouth and Ocean counties.

UNDERWOOD JOINS PROPERTY LAW FIRM: Brandon Underwood of Brick has joined the Shrewsbury office of Patterson & Sheridan, an intellectual property law firm, as a technical advisor.

Before joining the firm, Underwood was an electrical engineer with the United States Army Communications Electronics Research Development and Engineering Command, or CERDEC. His area of practice focuses on patents for the electronics, computer science and telecommunications industries.

STOCKHOLDERS AT T&M ASSOCIATES: Fred Passegio of Marlboro, Steve Amos of Toms River and Stephen Tomicki of Robbinsville in Washington Township, have been appointed stockholders at T&M Associates, Middletown.

Passegio is a group manager with T&M Associates and has 25 years of experience covering all phases of design, construction, and management of transportation and commercial facilities projects.

Amos is a group manager with T&M Associates and has more than 16 years of experience in civil engineering and construction management.

Tomicki is a business development manager with T&M Associates, working with private clients such as industrial, pharmaceuticals and developers.

SCHOOR DEPALMA PROMOTES WALSH: John Walsh of Brick has been promoted to New Jersey region operations manager at Schoor DePalma, Manalapan. He formerly served as a municipal services division director. He is an executive vice president.

In his new position, Walsh will manage all public and private projects throughout the New Jersey Region. He is a member of numerous professional organizations and has received a number of professional awards including Civil Engineer of the Year from the New Jersey Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers. He also serves as chairman of the Schoor DePalma Community Foundation.

EVERETT NAMED TO AUTO HALL OF FAME: Bob Everett, owner of Bayville Auto Care, Berkeley, has been named to the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey’s Hall of Fame. He is a former president of the association.
