EJL Wireless Research Announces New BTS Contract Market Analysis Program

EJL Wireless Research announces its new Base Station Contract Market Analysis Program with the release of the second quarter 2007 results. Also being released are the reports for the first quarter 2007 and 2006 annual analysis. The reports will be issued on a quarterly and annual basis and provide a unique perspective on the global cellular/PCS base station contract awards and demand for mobile base station equipment covering all major OEMs including Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson, Huawei Technologies, Motorola, Nokia Siemens Networks, LG Nortel Co. Ltd., and ZTE.
"For the second straight quarter, Alcatel-Lucent led the market with 35.7% of total contract awards that were publicly announced during the June 30, 2007 ended quarter. However Ericsson landed the largest revenue amount contract during the quarter from China Mobile for a $1 billion GSM/EDGE upgrade. Motorola was the only OEM without any contract wins during the quarter," says Lum.
"The GSM market continues to hold up the market with nearly half of the contract awards in this technology segment while Asia Pacific led the regions and China awarded the most contracts during the quarter. The split between 2G and 3G technologies for the quarter was slightly in favor of 3G at 52.4%," says Lum.
