American Eagle to Begin New Nonstop Services

July 24, 2007

American Eagle, an affiliate of American Airlines, is planning to add nonstop services between its Dallas/Fort Worth hub and Santa Fe Municipal Airport, beginning December 13.

The airline will also start nonstop weekend service from Los Angeles International Airport to Santa Fe on December 14. American Eagle will operate both round-trip services using 44-seat Embraer ERJ-140 jets.

Peter Bowler, American Eagle president and CEO said: “American Eagle is excited to be able to provide Santa Fe and the surrounding communities with its first commercial jet service in decades. This service will make visiting the beautiful leisure and adventure destinations in the area much more convenient.”

“This is very good news for Santa Fe residents, business people and visitors,” said Mayor David Coss. “Greater travel opportunities through this American Airlines/American Eagle service will enhance the City’s economic development plan and give added travel options to Santa Feans. I commend our airport staff for this accomplishment and welcome American Eagle to Santa Fe.”
