Jupiter Aviation Plans Joint Venture With Kingfisher, Air Deccan
Jupiter Aviation & Logistics, an aviation infrastructure and logistics company, is planning to sign a joint venture agreement with Kingfisher Airlines and Air Deccan, for a $100 million maintenance, repair and overhaul project in Bangalore, India.
Jupiter Aviation will hold 50% stake in the joint venture and Kingfisher Airlines and Air Deccan will together hold the rest 50%.
The joint venture is intended to serve as an outsourcing hub and provide training and design facilities for global carriers.
Air Deccan chairman G Gopinath said: “In three months time we are firming up plans for an independent MRO facility including training and design facilities. Jupiter, through Airbus, has expressed an interest to partner in the project, with Kingfisher-Deccan combine now being the largest customer for Airbus.”
