Disagreements on Nord Stream Project Should Be Settled Soon – Medvedev
MOSCOW. July 27 (Interfax) – Russia’s disagreements with a number of countries regarding the Nord Stream project, a gas pipeline construction along the floor of the Baltic Sea, are temporary and will be settled in the near future, First Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said.
“Disagreements are temporary setbacks, and they will be overcome in the near future,” Medvedev said in an interview with foreign journalists on Friday.
The project is designed to make gas supplies to Europe less vulnerable to various factors, both natural and political ones, he said.
“The more pipes, the less risks to energy supply,” Medvedev said.
He also said he hoped the Nord Stream pipeline will be brought into operation as planned.
