Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan to Discuss Construction of Trans-Caspian Pipeline

ASHGABAT. July 30 (Interfax) – Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan will hold negotiations on the construction of the Trans-Caspian pipeline in Almaty on August 5-9, the Turkmen state information service said on Monday.

“The sides will discuss the implementation of intergovernmental agreements on the construction of the Trans-Caspian gas pipeline and the development of gas transport facilities in Central Asia,” it said.

The Turkmen delegation will include representatives of the Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources Ministry, the Turkmengaz State Concern and the State Agency for Hydrocarbon Resources Management and Use.

The presidents of Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Russia agreed to build the pipeline in Turkmenbashi this May. The pipeline will go through the territories of the three countries.
