RENEWABLE energy firm Airtricity has opened the Republic’s second largest wind farm, which is powerful enough to heat and light 30,000 homes.
The company said the environmental dividend of its new facility in Co. Cavan was equivalent to taking 30,000 cars off the road.
The project is the third to be completed since the company recommenced developing wind farms in Ireland.
