Fresh Harvest Products Signs Distribution Deal With Wakefern Food

Posted on: Friday, 3 August 2007, 09:23 CDT

US natural and organic food and beverage manufacturer Fresh Harvest Products has commenced a distribution arrangement with Wakefern Food Corporation and has received its first purchase order.

Wakefern Food is taking Fresh Harvest Products directly into its warehouse for initial distribution to a large portion of ShopRite Supermarkets. Fresh Harvest said it will be working with Wakefern on sampling and demo programs throughout all of the stores that will be selling Fresh Harvest's products.

New York-based Fresh Harvest is also expanding its presence in Price Chopper Supermarkets and is currently running a sampling, promotional and demo program in many of their stores.

Dominick Cingari, COO, said: "We are pleased with Wakefern's initial order and believe that the sampling and promotional programs that we have initiated will increase the awareness and presence of our product line in Shoprite and throughout the region. We are quite pleased that we continue to receive reorders from our current distributors and markets and are working with new accounts to expand.

"We believe that the sampling and promotional programs that we have instituted in the Northeast that began late this summer and will run periodically throughout the remainder of the year will highlight the taste and quality of our product line. We have found that once a customer tastes one of our products, they tend to purchase other Wings of Nature products. Sampling and promotion is a key factor in increasing Wings of Nature brand awareness and expanding our reach to new consumers."

In addition, Fresh Harvest has now launched a direct-to-consumer web page and online store, which sells the full line of Wings of Nature organic products.

Under the Wings of Nature brand name, Fresh Harvest offers a line of organic snack products, which primarily include health bars, coffee bars, tortilla chips and salsa. In addition, Fresh Harvest provides a grocery product line which includes several varieties of whole bean and ground coffees, olive oil and beverages. The company sells its products to natural food distributors and stores, specialty supermarkets and mass market retailers.
