REpower and Epuron Sign 160MW Wind Power Deal
REpower Systems and Conergy subsidiary Epuron have signed a joint framework agreement for the delivery of 80 wind turbines for international projects, with a total capacity of 160MW.
The agreement mainly involves the REpower MM82 and MM92 turbines. The wind farm projects are to be implemented in Germany, Italy, France and Australia.
“We have been successfully working together with REpower for a long time on projects in Europe,” commented Joachim Muller, a member of the executive board of Epuron responsible for wind power. “This and the high degree of reliability and tried-and-tested technology of the REpower turbines were the decisive factors which prompted us to sign this framework agreement for 160MW.”
The agreement enables Epuron to expand its international growth strategy in the area of wind power. “With this agreement, we are now able to implement the projects we have already secured in Italy, France and Australia on time,” Mr Muller said. The company is also developing its presence in other attractive markets such as India, Turkey and the US.
