Recalled Toys Include Polly Pocket, Batman

August 14, 2007

U.S. toymaker Mattel Tuesday announced the recall of more than 9 million toys sold in the United States because of lead paint and potential choking issues.

According to the El Segundo, Calif., company, the list of toys with magnets includes 44 Polly Pocket toys, 11 Doggie Day Care toys, 4 Batman toys, 1 One Piece toy and the accessory part of two Barbie toys.

Mattel also recalled the Sarge vehicle from the Cars die-cast toy line manufactured between May-August 2007 because of lead-paint levels.

A list of toys subject to recall is on the company’s Web site, www.mattel.com, and the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission Web site, www.spsc.gov.

Mattel said consumers should take the recalled product away from children, and contact Mattel to receive a voucher for a qualifying replacement toy of the consumer’s choice.
