O’Charley’s Introduces Eight New ‘Flavor Road’ Dishes for Limited Time Only

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Aug. 22 /PRNewswire/ — Officials at O’Charley’s Restaurants, a leading casual-dining restaurant concept with 240 locations in 19 Southeast and Midwest states, have unveiled its new Limited Time Only (LTO) menu, featuring eight Flavor Road items. The new LTO menu will be available through October 29.

Six of the new items are entrees that represent adventuresome takes on traditional dishes, one is a variation on an onion ring appetizer, and the last item is a scrumptious dessert treat guests can order for the whole table: cinnamon sugar donuts, warm and suitable for dipping. It is the first LTO menu created by O’Charley’s new super-chef, Stephen Bulgarelli, who is known for introducing an element of surprise into his culinary creations.

“When Stephen first joined us, he told us to expect the unexpected, and this menu delivers on that promise,” said Jeff Warne, O’Charley’s concept president. “In a recent preview tasting for the LTO, guests raved about every item. Stephen’s willingness to challenge the status quo and infuse tried-and- true dishes with new energy through unique food pairings and surprising combinations of seasonings are his trademark. Whether it’s classic onion rings, which O’Charley’s makes its own with our proprietary Cajun Horseradish sauce, or a new pasta dish with pizza ‘genes,’ our flavor combinations are sure to titillate the taste buds. But he never forgets that it’s the guests’ palate, not just his own, that he has to please.”

   The new dishes are:    -- Beer-Battered Onion Rings -- A heaping portion of seasoned onion rings      wrapped in sweet beer batter and fried to a golden brown.  Served with      a zesty Cajun Horseradish sauce.  $5.99.    -- O'Charley's Good Time Grillers -- Four 100% ground beef mini-burgers      topped with cheddar cheese, pickles and O'Charley's special recipe      sauce.  Served with fresh, hot seasoned fries.  $8.99.    -- Cedar-Planked Salmon Chopped Salad -- This takes salads to a new level!      O'Charley's best-selling smoky roasted cedar-planked salmon served      chilled on a bed of chopped romaine lettuce with fresh dill, bacon,      tomatoes, cucumbers, onion and a new Dijon White Wine Vinaigrette.      $9.49.    -- Key West Citrus Chicken -- A savory grilled chicken breast served on a      bed of rice pilaf then topped with a new mango papaya salsa.  A great      sweet hot combination!  $9.99.    -- New York Pizza Pie Pasta -- All the flavor of a New York-style pizza      without the crust. O’Charley’s generally has six Limited Time Offer menus a year. Each LTO menu is available for between six and eight weeks. The current LTO menu is the fifth of six planned for 2007. “Our goal is to keep up with our guests’ changing tastes and preferences and to stay current with the latest food trends,” Warne added. “Some of our LTO menu items prove so popular that they become part of our permanent menu, like our California Chicken Salad, now an O’Charley’s staple.”
