Hamilton Sundstrand C.A.R.E. Program to Provide Maintenance Support for Singapore Airlines' A380 Fleet

WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn., Aug. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Singapore Airlines has selected Hamilton Sundstrand's Comprehensive Accessory Repair and Exchange (C.A.R.E.) program to provide asset management and maintenance support for its fleet of Airbus A380 aircraft. Hamilton Sundstrand is a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp. .

The 10-year exclusive agreement for air management and emergency power components is Hamilton Sundstrand's first C.A.R.E program for the Airbus A380.

Singapore Airlines is the launch customer for the A380 and will take delivery of up to 19 of the super jumbo planes beginning in October of this year.

Hamilton Sundstrand's C.A.R.E. program offers total repair and inventory support services for engine accessories and airframe components. The business currently manages equipment installed on more than 600 aircraft and 1,000 engines. The program, in existence since 1998, provides an integrated maintenance management solution for more than 35 customers worldwide and encompasses Hamilton Sundstrand and other supplier equipment. Hamilton Sundstrand has similar long-term aftermarket agreements with 22 of the world's 25 largest airlines

Singapore Airlines' passenger route network covers 65 destinations in 35 countries. The average age of the fleet is 6 years and 5 months.

Hamilton Sundstrand has won a number of original equipment systems on the A380 including the air generation system, cabin pressure control system, actuation systems, and emergency and auxiliary power systems. Hamilton Sundstrand also provides the engine control system, including the full authority digital engine control, fuel pump and metering unit for the Rolls- Royce Trent 900 engine; and the fuel pump and gearbox System for the Engine Alliance GP7000 engine.
