TrendSetter Exhibits Solar Product in Support of California Assembly Bill 1470 - Incentives
Posted on: Tuesday, 28 August 2007, 09:22 CDT
TrendSetter Solar Products (Pink Sheets:TSSP) today announced that the Company joined ten other companies and institutions, such as Stanford University in a Solar Water Heating Exhibit Event on the California State Capitol grounds on Tuesday August 21, 2007. Dirk Atkinson, TrendSetter's CEO stated, "California Assembly member Jared Huffman, who was one of the organizers of the event, is one of the primary sponsors of AB 1470, a Bill that if passed, will allocate $250 million of financial incentives for the installation of approximately 200,000 solar heating systems in California over the next ten years."
Bernadette Del Chiaro with Environment California, Sue Kateley, Executive Director for the California Solar Energy Industry Association CALSEIA were joined by Trendsetter Solar Products, Inc., The Center for Sustainable Energy, Davis Energy Group and several solar energy companies who set up booths with their products at the Solar Day Event in support of The Solar Water and Heating Efficiency Act (AB 1470 - Huffman) authored by Assemblymember Jared Huffman. Assembly member Huffman hopes to have the bill on Governor Schwarzenegger's desk in the next couple of months.
According to Assembly member Huffman, California relies heavily on natural gas for water and space heating. Eighty percent of the natural gas is imported and the continued population increase is going to strain limited supplies and further contribute to global warming. California has abundant sunlight and solar technologies and systems could save home owners approximately 75% in fuel costs.
Norm Ehrlich, Trendsetter's founder and CTO stated, "Seventy percent of the solar energy that lands on rooftop collectors can be absorbed by the evacuated tube solar collectors, heating liquid that is then pumped into a storage tank. This is the basis of TrendSetter's Solar Thermal Hot Water Systems. We expect to obtain our share of product sales through the installation of our systems. The incentives provided by AB1470 should accelerate the sales."
About TrendSetter Solar Products
