Cellphones to Be Allowed in-Flight on Shenzhen Air International Traveler / Update: HONG KONG
August 31, 2007
Shenzhen Airlines will allow passengers to use their mobile phones in-flight in a bid to win more high-paying business travelers. The in-flight calling system is to be provided by OnAir NV. AirAsia, Southeast Asia’s biggest low-fare carrier, signed a deal to install the system across its fleet in June. Ryanair, the largest low-cost airline in Europe, will introduce the system later this year.
Shenzhen Airlines, based in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen, has a fleet of 70 planes.
