APL Includes Westports, Pusan in China India Express Service
CONTAINER transporter APL has enhanced its China India Express (CIX) Service with the addition of two new ports of call en-route, namely Westports at Port Klang and Pusan in South Korea.
APL said in a statement that the addition is to cater to growing customer demand in Malaysia and South Korea to transport cargo to Asia’s key growth markets, China and India.
The new port rotation will be, Xingang-Dalian-Pusan-Qingdao-Hong Kong-Shekou-Singapore-Colombo-Nhava Sheva-Port Klang-Singapore-Hong Kong-Xingang.
“APL is excited to introduce the CIX service to Malaysia and South Korea. To provide customers with the best access to key markets, APL constantly evaluates market demand globally to enhance its service offerings,” APL Malaysia managing director Abdul Aziz Toha said in a statement.
The CIX service made its first call at Westports on August 24, deploying five ships with a capacity of between 2,500 and 2,700 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), transporting mainly fire board, palm products, electronic and rubber goods.
“APL is confident that the new route servicing Malaysia and South Korea will further augment the resounding success of the CIX service,” Abdul Aziz said.
APL has four main offices and 88 staff across Malaysia, in Subang, Penang, Port Klang and Johor Baru.
