Here’s a Prediction That I Hope Never Comes True…
Here’s a prediction that I hope never comes true. I read in The Paper that the labor dispute between air traffic controllers and the FAA is getting more and more serious. Air traffic has almost rebounded to pre-Sept. 11, 2001, levels. It seems a contract can’t be reached and one has been imposed by the FAA, including fairly large salary cuts. The number of qualified controllers is declining due to several factors, and the number of flights is still growing, as are problems such as on-time takeoffs and landings. It doesn’t take the oft-referenced rocket scientist to predict this is a recipe for disaster in the form of increased poor service and more near misses and enhanced probability of tragic crashes.
