SNS Silver Drills Over 10 Feet of 56 Opt (1,910 G/T) Silver at Crescent Mine
VANCOUVER, Sept. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — SNS Silver Corp (“SNS”) announces that diamond drill hole 403 has intercepted a 10 foot wide section that contains high grade silver averaging 56.3 ounces per ton (“opt”) (1,910 gm/T) of silver during exploration drilling at the Crescent Mine (“Crescent”).
The high grade silver intercept is located at the approximate location of the projected “South Vein”, which has been identified in both the historic drilling 4,500 feet (1,500 meters) and deeper, as well as previously announced holes from the current drill program. Highlights of diamond drill hole 403 include:
– A 2.0 foot (0.61 m) intercept assaying 134 opt (4,594 gm/T) silver – A 2.0 foot (0.61 m) intercept assaying 115 opt (3,953 gm/T) silver. – Average silver grade for 10 foot (3.05 meter) wide section: 56.3 opt (1,910 gm/T) Diamond Drill Hole 403 (South Vein) ———————————–
Assay results, sample lengths, and estimated true width are as follows, including silver (Ag), lead (Pb) and copper (Cu) values.

While a single drill intercept may not be representative of grades and widths elsewhere in the structure, Mr. White remarked, “The width of the intercepts, the distribution of higher grades within the intercept, and other physical characteristics of the intercept suggest good potential for considerable lateral and dip continuity of economic grades”. SNS will continue to drill to investigate whether this structure is part of a larger system. The intercept was obtained roughly 750 feet (250 metres) below the surface and 1,080 feet (360 metres) above the Hooper Tunnel haulage level. The vein is currently open along strike for approximately 1,080 feet (360 metres) and both upward to the surface and downward for 4,500 feet (1,500 metres).
The current Phase I (surface) drilling at the Crescent has identified at least three separate veins near the upward projection of the originally named South Vein. One recent intercept – which was called the South Vein in an August 29, 2007 news release and reported there as containing 7 opt (240 gm/T) across an estimated true width of 1.0 metres – has been interpreted as a relatively weak structure and is not considered to be the same vein reported here. Two additional veins 17 metres and 70 metres south of the previously reported “South Vein” appear to be much stronger structures.
Prior drill holes between the South Vein and Alhambra structure 240 m to the north had identified widespread silicification and associated argentiferous tetrahedrite (silver copper bearing mineralization) that Senior Geologist Brian White interprets had most likely spread upward along bedding from a southerly source structure. The present intercept could identify this structure as the source of the scattered tetrahedrite.
Mr. Norman A. Radford of Wallace, ID, who is a Registered Professional Geologist in the State of Idaho and a Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101 of the Canadian Securities Administrators, has examined the core interval identified here and has approved this press release. Mr. Radford served for many years as primary mine geologist at the Crescent Mine under its previous owner, Bunker Hill Mining Company.
Assays reported were performed at the Chris Christopherson Assay Lab. Silver results are by fire assay.
(SNS: TSX-V) is an exploration mining company, whose primary asset is the 100% owned Crescent Mine located in Kellogg, Idaho – one of the largest silver districts in North America with over one billion ounces of silver produced. The property consists of 24 patented mining claims over approximately 350 acres, alongside 15 acres of surface rights. The Company currently has a comprehensive and well-funded drill program underway. Their main focus is on upper country surface drilling and underground drilling on the Alhambra and South Veins, as well as restoration of the Hooper Tunnel, drifting and cross-cutting.
Historical resource estimates quoted herein are based on data and reports obtained and prepared by previous operators. The Company has not completed the work necessary to independently verify the classification of the mineral resource estimates and is not treating the mineral resource estimates as National Instrument 43-101 defined resources verified by a qualified person. The historical estimates should not be relied upon. The Crescent Mine will require considerable further evaluation, which the Company’s management and consultants are in the process of completing.
