Air New Zealand to Offer New Services – Report

September 12, 2007

Air New Zealand intends to offer flight services between Shanghai and Europe from 2010, Bloomberg has reported.

The report has quoted Ed Sims, group general manager of Air New Zealand, as saying that the airline is planning to launch services to Germany, France, Holland and Scandinavia.

Mr Sims added that apart from the new services, the airline also plans to increase its current five flights a week Auckland-Shanghai service to a daily service within a year.

Having started Hong Kong-London flights in 2006, the airline intends to expand its Hong Kong service and is also looking at opportunities in Beijing, the US, Mumbai and South Asia, the report said citing Mr Sims.

Mr Sims said: “The future for New Zealand is in smaller aircraft flying ultra-long range. We’re very ambitious in terms of the network.”
