Kyocera Solar has been selected as the sole supplier of photovoltaic modules for a solar electric generating system in Salamanca, Spain.
The facility, known as Planta Solar de Salamanca, incorporates about 70,000 Kyocera modules in three separate arrays on a 36-hectare site.
Its peak rated output of 13.8 megawatts makes it the photovoltaic system ever created using Kyocera photovoltaic modules exclusively, and one of the PV systems in the world.
Tatsumi Maeda, general manager of Kyocera solar energy group, said: "As a manufacturer of photovoltaic modules, Kyocera will continue to refine its technologies and supply highly reliable solar energy products worldwide."
