Austrian Airlines has temporarily removed its turboprop aircraft of the type dash 8-400 from operation. Eight out of a total of 10 aircraft of this type the Austrian Airlines uses in its fleet have been affected by the manufacturer’s statements.

In line with a worldwide recommendation issued by aircraft manufacturer Bombardier, the Austrian Airlines Group has temporarily removed its turboprop aircraft of the type Dash 8-400 from operation. Eight out of a total of 10 aircraft of this type the Austrian Airlines Group uses in its fleet have been affected by the manufacturer’s statements. All aircraft are operated by Austrian Arrows.

According to the company, the affected flights will partly be carried out with different airplane types.

The Bombardier decision is based upon two incidents in recent days involving the landing gear of Dash 8-400 aircraft operated by a Scandinavian airline. Austrian Airlines has carried out checks on its fleet after the first incident.
