OJ Thugs Stormed Room, Guns Drawn

Posted on: Friday, 14 September 2007, 15:00 CDT

A sports memorabilia dealer says O.J. Simpson and several gun-toting men robbed him of his wares in a Las Vegas hotel room, TMZ reported Friday.

Alfred Beardsley said he had obtained various items once owned by Simpson, including the suit the former football player and actor wore the day he was acquitted of double murder.

Beardsley told TMZ he had arranged to meet a potential buyer at the Palace Station Hotel and Casino Thursday, but the man turned out to be a member of Simpson's crew.

The dealer said Simpson and five other men stormed the room, two of them with guns drawn, and claimed they were police officers.

Simpson and others then demanded Beardsley and two other men hand over their cell phones. Beardsley said he refused to do so and was roughed up by one of the men.

Beardsley said the group stole all of his memorabilia, including items signed by Joe Montana.

Uneasy about the meeting, Beardsley had previously stashed the suit at another location beforehand.

Beardsley said he called 911 and cops came and searched the room, taking Beardsley's phone, DNA samples and photos of his body.

An active robbery investigation is underway. Simpson has been questioned by Las Vegas police but no arrests have been made.
