Globecomm Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: GCOM), a leading provider of satellite-based communications infrastructure solutions and services on a global basis, today announced that the Company has been awarded a $2.5 million contract to provide tracking telemetry and control (TT&C) infrastructure in Asia.

Globecomm will provide the customer with turnkey satellite infrastructure at two locations in Asia supporting the overall TT&C system. TT&C systems enable satellite operators to monitor and control their satellites by transmitting and receiving signals to/from onboard computer systems. This allow operators to continually monitor the health and status of on-board electronics, control the position and orientation of the satellite in orbit and change the configuration of the communications systems as needed. The Company anticipates that both sites will be completely operational by the Company’s third fiscal quarter ending March 31, 2008.

David Hershberg, CEO and Chairman of Globecomm Systems Inc., said, “TT&C infrastructure is mission critical to satellite operators. Globecomm possesses extensive experience in this area and is thrilled to have been selected for this award.”
