RWE Power has commissioned two new wind parks at Tourville-la-Chapelle and Gouchaupre, Normandy in northern France.
The total investment made in the 20MW plant is around E24 million. The company took one year to build the wind turbines, numbering eight in total. Each outputting 2.5MW, the turbines stand 125m high and have a rotor diameter of 90m. The electricity generated will be sufficient to serve the annual needs of at least 14,500 households.
With the addition of the two new wind parks, RWE's total installed power plant capacity from renewable energy sources in France stands at 65MW.
RWE Power is currently building another two wind parks, to supply around 70MW, in Poland.
