PG&E Elects William Arndt Vice President, Project Management and Program Office

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Pacific Gas and Electric Company has elected William D. Arndt to the newly established post of Vice President, Project Management and Program Office. Arndt will oversee the execution and implementation of key business initiatives in support of the company's vision to become the nation's leading utility. He brings to this new role 25 years of experience successfully managing diverse aspects of various strategic business initiatives for leading companies, including operational and financial performance, customer relations, business planning, and other areas of responsibility. His appointment is effective September 24, 2007.

Arndt joins PG&E from Exelon Corporation, where he served most recently as Senior Vice President, Financial Operations. Arndt joined Exelon in 2001. He successfully led the execution of several large-scale business improvement projects, including the company's flagship change initiative, The Exelon Way.

Arndt's experience also includes more than 19 years in management leadership roles within General Electric's GE Power Systems business unit. There, he held positions of increasing responsibility, helping to drive financial and operational performance improvements in various global business segments. In 2000, he led the integration of the sales and marketing functions to support the creation of a global joint venture between GE, Hitachi and Toshiba.

Arndt is a 1980 graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY, where he earned a bachelor's degree with honors in marine engineering. He is a retired U.S. Naval Reserve Lieutenant.
