The World: Airport Protest
September 20, 2007
MORE than 300 people were expected to join a protest camp today against plans for a new immigration removal centre at one of Britain’s busiest airports.
The four-day “Gatwick Area No Border” camp – said to be the first of its kind to take place in the UK – has been set up in a field in the village of Balcombe, a few miles from the West Sussex airport.
