Largest Gold Reserves in Arab World

According to Al-Khabar newspaper (September 23, 2007), a recently released report by the World Gold Council estimated Lebanon’s gold reserves volume at 286.8 tons during the current year, representing thus 24.1 per cent of world gold reserves. The report added that Lebanon occupies the first position in the Arab World in terms of gold reserves volume.
