According to anba: Brazilian state-owned oil company Petrobras announced yesterday (20) the discovery of a new oil field located in deep waters in the Santos Basin, with light oil and natural gas reserves. In a press release, the company informed that tests conducted in a second well have confirmed the presence of light oil, which had been announced to the market in July last year, when the first results of the pioneer well were obtained. The most recent test points to a production of around 2,000 oil barrels and 65,000 cubic metres of natural gas per day, with outflow limited by operational and safety premises. The region of Tupi, where the two well are located, pertains to block 11, which Petrobras operates (with a 65% share) in a consortium with the BG Group (25%), and Petrogal-Galp Energia (10%). Information supplied by Petrobras indicates that the second well is located at a 2,166-metre water layer, 286 kilometres away from the southern coast of the city of Rio de Janeiro (southeast Brazil).
